This resin is a partially n-butylated melamine formaldehyde resin with a medium level of butylation, a medium methylol content, low imino functionalty, a relative low molecular weight and viscosity.

MELCROSS-26 crosslinking agent has good compatibility with alkyd, polyester, acrylic or epoxy resins for a wide range of general industrial stoving finishes, automotive paints, drum and coil coating formulations.

Introduction
MELCROSS-26 Crosslinking agent has fast curing properties,
mar resistance properties and provides films with good hardness and resistance properties, high gloss benefits.
This resin shows a medium reactivity and a medium tendency for self condensation in a range of polymer backbone resins, providing films with very good gloss, hardness, adhesion, and chemical resistance properties.
MELCROSS-26 amino resin does not need the addition of an acid catalyst to the formulation to  get effective cure at general stoving conditions.   The acidity of alkyd, polyester or acrylic is sufficient to initiate the curing process.  If you use weak organic or inorganic acids as additionally catalyst to the formulation, you can get very effective results.
Acid catalyzed coatings may be cured as low as 110-150°C for 15-20 minutes.
To control the stability, you can use tertiary amins for neutralization and PH adjustment.
MELCROSS-26 has good compatibility with a range of backbone polymers and has been designed for a wide range of medium solids, high glossy general industrial stoving applications.

    Storage
If MELCROSS-26 is kept in tightly closed drums or in storage tanks in the cool place, its shelf life is 18 months.
